The idea struck the owner, Rachel, back in 2006 after trudging out of town and wearing out her poor legs, that what Burnley needed was a shop she could go to safe in the knowledge that what she was buying had never been tested on animals but also contained no nasty chemicals.

Not long after this Rachel was hit with sudden redundancy so she thought "Why don't I do it myself?" So after several months of planning, studying and research into suitable suppliers The Little Green Shop finally emerged.

With the electric being supplied by the only power supplier in the UK to provide solely renewable energy and the phone and broadband being supplied by the ethical Phone Co-Op. Then there is the effort put in to recycling wherever possible any waste that comes into the shop (some of it is going into producing gift boxes) whilst all the literature for promotion is produced on recycled material plus there's eco friendly paint used on the interior of the shop. Basically it's quite green at The Little Green Shop.

The only shop in Burnley dedicated to only selling cruelty free, chemical free and eco friendly bodycare and cleaning products.
